Update from the Board – National Fuel Emergency
The ABCRA acknowledges the current challenges being experienced by our committees and members in response to the evolving situation in the Middle East. We recognise the potential impact of ongoing uncertainty surrounding fuel supply and pricing across our network.
ABCRA leadership is actively monitoring the situation and meeting regularly to assess its implications. We are engaging with relevant authorities to ensure we remain informed and appropriately positioned to respond.
Following a face-to-face meeting this week in Tamworth with the Hon. Kevin Anderson MP, Deputy Leader of the NSW National Party, the ABCRA Board welcomes the advice that the National Cabinet, convened by the Prime Minister, has confirmed the Australian Government will halve the fuel excise on petrol and diesel for a period of three months. This measure will reduce the cost of fuel by 26.3 cents per litre.
We will continue to work closely with our committees and members and will provide further updates as required. All decisions will be made with careful consideration of the operational, financial and stakeholder impacts across the Association.
